ITN
は、1991年開局のワープロ通信ＢＢＳホスト局です。NEC 9801 RX2＋mmm、2400bps １回線でスタート、のちに
ISDN 9600bps ２回線になりました。
上の写真は開局直後の様子。左が RX２ ホストコンピュータ、右が DX2 です。
テキストのやりとりがメインでしたが、ふだん接触のない方々と話せることに、新鮮な楽しさを感じていました。また、オフ会でのリアルな出会いも楽しかった。
このころが、パソコンが一番楽しい時代だったかもしれません。メモリをいかにケチるかに全力を尽くしていた時代が懐かしい。
高校時代の紙テープ＆FORTRANからスタートして、MZ2200のカセットテープ＆BASIC、そしてNEC88・98、５インチフロッピー＆N88BASICとMSDOS。
Windowsの2.0を知ってる世代。P1.EXEの衝撃。その後のWindows、そしてAndroidやchromeOS。そしてAI。
まさに日進月歩の世界。さて、つぎはどうなることやら。いつまでお付き合いできるやら。。。

ITN is a word-processing BBS host station opened in 1991,
started with NEC 9801 RX2 + mmm, one 2400bps line, and later
became two ISDN 9600bps lines.
The photo above shows the station just after its opening. On the
left is the RX2 host computer and on the right is the DX2.
Although we mainly exchanged texts,
it was a fresh pleasure to be able to talk with people with whom
we normally had no contact. I also enjoyed meeting people in
real life at offline meetings.
These were probably the most enjoyable times for me with
computers. I miss the days when I was doing my best to be stingy
with memory.
Starting with paper tapes & FORTRAN in high school, then MZ2200
cassette tapes & BASIC, then NEC88/98, 5” floppy & N88BASIC and
MSDOS.
The generation that knows Windows 2.0. the impact of P1.EXE.
Then Windows, Android and chromeOS, and AI.
The world is truly an ever-evolving world. Now, I wonder what
will happen next. I wonder how long I can keep up with them.
